TK99’s Blues, Brews and BBQ becomes free event

There’s a new twist on a Memorial Day Weekend favorite in Central New York.
The folks at Syracuse rock radio station TK99 announced this morning that the annual Blues, Brew and BBQ will be a free-admission event, on May 29 at the state fairgrounds’ Chevy Court in Geddes.
Headliners will be Max Weinberg and his big band, and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
If that doesn’t scratch your Jersey shore itch …
The lineup also will include guitarist Coco Montoya, former band mate of John Mayall, and Syracuse’s The Fabulous Ripcords. Two more Syracuse bands will be announced, likely to be Super DeLinquents and The Chris Terra Band.
The doors will open at 2 p.m., and the music will start at 3 p.m.
Last year, Kenny Wayne Shepherd headlined, and the ticket cost $20 in advance or $25 at the gate.
